First a vent session and then we'll get down to business...
In junior high and high school we were so naive, weren't we? I mean we had a general idea of what life would be like after high school was all done, but it really never sunk in. The reason I am suddenly pondering this is because of one thing...
Taxes...
When I was reminded that I had to do taxes for the first time this year I was in utter turmoil. I barely know how to cook, now I have to do taxes? And sweet truly blessed Eric has been given full ride scholarships all four years of college so he never really had to work (seriously this guy lucked out in life), so he wasn't really any help. So what did we do? Called our parents of course who were happy to do it. The problem is when it comes to money and me paying someone I want it done NOW. I am extremely impatient when it comes to that, no shame, so I just thought that I would have a go, and do it on my own.
My Decent into Madness
Alright, that's a bit dramatic, but I did have a mini anxiety attack when I got my W-2 form and had no idea what to do with it. I didn't really work in high school, school was my job to my parents, so obviously I had never received this kind of thing. Then Eric also got a form from the school for taxes. Now I have these two "important" pieces of paper and I have no clue what I do with them...
I thank the Lord everyday for the time I was born in, because doing your taxes online is the best. Turbo Tax saved me from my adult woes. Why do they not teach this in school by the way?? Everyone should take a semester course on taxes because life would be a 100x better.
My Dear Husband
So Eric will be getting surgery in the next couple of weeks. The pain for him is tolerable but what he hates most is having to need someone to take care of him. He can't help me carry to much up the stairs to our apartment, he needs help in and out of the shower and he has to sit down, and of course he has to crutch around all day which isn't very fun. Not to mention it seems that every sickness is making its way to him. Of course I'm exaggerating, but this past week Eric has been dealing with strep throat, and a stuffy nose. My poor baby. :( We thank everyone for the love that they show him it really does help! With news of Eric's basketball team, the CBU Lancers are killing it! The Lancers will compete for their first NCAA Division II West Region title on Monday. I'm so excited! I love being an athletes wife. ;) It's amazing how before I met Eric I never watched basketball, and now I'm the most embarrassing fan. Please send prayers and thoughts for Eric as he makes his recovery! Hopefully he'll be up and down the court in no time. :)
